Colored Jeans for Spring

Ever since Urban Outfitters started selling colorful jeans a few years back, I find that I have almost completely phased traditional blue jeans out of my wardrobe. Especially with the start of spring, blue jeans just aren't doing it for me! I find that patterned jeans are more limiting than solid, bright jeans because you must match them with a plain top. Either way, patterned and color jeans have become a huge fashion trend and are hopefully here to stay.

Along with the skinny jeans in color, it seems that cropped pants are in. It is crazy to think how much fashion has evolved since the blue jean bellbottoms that were all the rage just a few years ago. Check out some of the links below for some great styles of jeans!

The "best dressed" list presents dresses mostly black and white in color. Additionally, dresses with cut-outs and deep v necklines are all the rage. Do you agree with this list? Disagree?

Watches: Big or Small?

Just last year, I gave in to the big, giant-watch trend. For my graduation, I finally got the gold Michael Kors watch that I had been wanting. Just a few months later, after a stroll through the department store, all I see are tiny and petite watches. Watches are being re-marketed as "less is more." I can't help but think, was the big-watch trend ever real? Were they ever really cool, or was their existence just a ploy to make money, since most people already own a normal-sized watch? I love my large watch, but if it weren't the "trend" at the time, I don't know that I would ever really seek to buy that large of a watch.

Additionally, with most people having a cell phone within arm's reach, are watches phasing out? Personally, I use my watch as a fashion accessory and I have found that I rarely, if ever, check the time with it. People are either working at a computer or using a cell phone, making clocks more accessible than ever. Are watches slowly becoming a thing of the past? Just some things to think about!

Dress Patterns

I have always been into floral patterns, but as of late, it seems like prints of all colors and patterns are everywhere! Spring fashion seems to be about the bold; neon colors, sharp contrasts, aztec patterns, and flowers are all the rage.

Dresses like this one from Asos.com are perfect for any event. This dress can be dressed up or down for a formal event or a night out to dinner.  I love the bold variety of colors this dress presents; it can be paired with accessories of almost any color

The red dress above, also from Asos.com is representative of the in-style aztec pattern. These dresses are usually worn casually, but can be dressed up with a pair of heels or wedges. Spring Handbags

As spring (slowly) comes upon us, it is time to put away our dark winter clothes in exchange for color! Thats means handbags too! Handbags and purses are the staple accessory to any outfit. Whether you need a bag with a lot of space, or just a clutch to grab drinks with friends, there are a lot of great new handbags to bring in the new season!

Square-shaped bags are a must-have this spring! Big bags are still in style; popular designers like Michael Kors are showing bags of all colors with square edges. These bags are perfect for work or the beach and have plenty of space for belongings!

Bracelet Mixing and Matching

This past weekend, I attended Mom's weekend at U of I to visit my sister. In the spirit of mother's weekend, we did a little jewelry shopping. I must admit, I am usually hesitant about mixing and matching too many different jewelry pieces, but the up-and-coming company, busywrist, started by a family friend, can do no wrong. This company recreates the popular bracelets that girls my age usually cannot afford. If you have ever heard of chan luu, a high-end bracelet brand, then you know what I am talking about.
